A Message From the ACE Program Director, Kate Allinder
The state of Missouri has determined that EMS education is an essential education, and can be carried out in person with specific safety guidelines. The Medic One Academic Center for EMS is proud to say that our daily procedures for Covid-19 safety have kept our staff safe and healthy since the start of restrictions in March. Our building is sanitized daily and after each event, such as an EMT class. All of our equipment including ambulance and class equipment is sanitized after each use as well. Our classroom here at Medic One is very large and therefore, even with a maximum class capacity of 16 students, we have enough room for each student to socially distance at their own workspace. We do require that all students and instructors wear a mask while in the building. ACE also has a plan together in case the state requires that we learn virtually. ACE still offers clinical time on our own ambulances and will be fit testing each student with an N95 and providing full PPE for any Covid-19 patient transports while on clinicals. We have kept our crews, patients and families healthy and safe and intend to follow the same precautions in order to keep our students safe as well.
We look forward to seeing you in class!
